Hello. What did you think about the list of retiring products announced yesterday? I’m always sad to see things leave, but after being with Stampin’ Up! for 10 years (this month is my anniversary!), I’m finally beginning to accept change a little easier! I’m still struggling with the thought of the 2013-2015 In Colors going away though.
Today’s share is a card that is a little different for me for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is a single layer card, which I do not do often. Second, I used a new-to-me technique that I learned from Jodi at Something About Stamping. I colored a clear block with four different markers, spritzed the block with water, then stamped on my paper for a background color.
I made this card for my school’s secretary for Administrative Professionals Day. I adore her. She is such a caring, honest person with a sweet soul. We do not get to chat too often, but when we do, we can’t stop! Two things that I know she loves and hoped to tie into this card are biking and the beach. I thought the color combination was kind of ‘beachy’, and the technique helped me find a good way to incorporate the small bicycle from the Sheltering Tree stamp set. The sentiment is from the B.Y.O.P. stamp set. Both sets are in the Occasions Catalog. It is so easy to get the placement just right with the photopolymer stamps! I’m really pleased with how this card turned out- what do you think?
